Terms of service

Draft. This text is a placeholder awaiting review and is not yet the binding version.
The service
directrate (“we”) provides an HTTP API at api.directrate.dev and a website at directrate.dev that
return hotel rates, loyalty member rates, award-point prices and online-travel-agency prices read
from each source’s own publicly reachable pricing surfaces, plus documentation and an account
dashboard. Access is by API key tied to an account you create by signing in.
Where the data comes from
Not legal advice, just the facts about where the data comes from: no account credentials, no logins, no bookings, nothing behind a paywall. The rates are what each chain and each OTA quotes an anonymous visitor on its own public booking surface. No chain or OTA trademark, logo or creative asset is used or resold — their names appear here because they are what the data is about. What you do with the data is yours to square with your own obligations. There is no partnership with any chain or OTA, and nothing here is official chain data.
Your account and keys
You are responsible for the keys issued to your account and for every request made with them. Keep keys server-side. We may revoke a key or suspend an account that is used to attack the service, to exceed the plan’s limits by evasion, or to resell raw access without agreement.
Plans, credits and payment
Usage is metered in credits as stated on every response (X-Credits-Charged) and described on the
pricing page. The Free plan is provided without charge and may be changed or withdrawn.
Paid plans are invoiced as agreed by email until a self-serve checkout exists; credits reset monthly
except where a plan states a rollover.
No SLA, no warranty
No uptime SLA. Chains and OTAs change their systems without notice and a source can degrade for
hours. The service is provided as is; measured uptime is published on the status page,
and source and cache_age_sec on every response say how fresh an answer is. We do not warrant
that any rate is bookable at the figure returned.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our aggregate liability for any claim arising from the service is limited to the fees you paid us in the three months before the claim.
Changes
We may change these terms; the date above moves when we do. Continued use after a change is acceptance of it.
